The AFL has ordered popular footy fan merchandise site League Tees take down their T-Shirts and badge in support of Carlton AFLW player Tayla Harris that was raising money for charity on the grounds that it was in breach of copyright.
The merchandise in question looks like this:

The designer and man behind League Tees Anthony Costa explained in an e-mail to subscribers of his website “We deny each and every allegation contained in your letter. In particular, we deny that the Tayla Harris #standwithtayla t-shirt, Tayla Harris #standwithtayla badge in any way infringe on the AFL’s intellectual property or any other rights.”
“You have alleged that our conduct will mislead and deceive consumers into believing that there is some connection or sponsorship by the AFL of the goods and services provided by League Tees.”
Costa further went on to add “Monies raised from the sale of products bearing our Tayla Harris inspired artwork has been donated to the Australian Literacy and Numeracy Foundation. So far we have donated $1002.75 to this cause. Despite primarily being a charity fundraiser, we have decided to remove our Tayla Harris shirt and Tayla Harris badge from sale.”
Fair to say, it was a very ordinary move from the AFL.
It was a case of classic Shane Watson last night in the IPL.
Watson, who was playing for the Chennai Super Kings produced a match-winning performance over the Dehli Capitals overnight with an outstanding performance of 44 of 26 runs to get the job done.
While Watson’s performance at the crease was impressive it was his clashes with Ishant Sharma and Kagiso Rabada that was the story of the night.
During the second over of Chennai’s innings, Sharma went a bit over the top and celebrated a bit too much after taking the first wicket of the innings.
All of a sudden, Watson and Sharma had to be separated after Sharma thought it would be a good idea to get in Watto’s face about it.
While there was a bit of argy-bargy during the night, the two seemed to share a joke at the end of the match with the Super Kings winning by six wickets.

The Daily Telegraph is reporting this morning that Adam Reynolds has welcomed new coach Wayne Bennett’s style of coaching to South Sydney this year.
Souths are currently 2-0 under Bennett and there’s a belief around the club that it’s more than appropriate that Bennett can pull a Rabbit out of his hat.
The Bunnies play the Neds Gold Coast Titans this Sunday at ANZ Stadium and Reynolds was full of praise for their new coach.
“He’s a great role model and I can’t praise him highly enough.
“It’s just his morals and the way he lives his life and the standards that he lives by. You can’t do anything but respect him.”
Many players have spoken of the special bond they share with Bennett and the father figure he is in their lives.
But Reynolds stopped short of saying he had a paternal-like influence on him – he just gets along with old people.
“I relate better to older people than people my own age, I’m forever hanging around RSLs, around old blokes and having yarns and whatnot. It’s in my nature to be drawn to those people.” Reynolds told the Daily Telegraph.
