TWO MORE SLEEPS TILL LEAGUE

After another eventful off-season of off-field incidents, there are only two more sleeps until some actual footy starts.

It’s going to be another busy year for everyone from the players, coaches, fans and of course magistrates but here is a brief summary as to what is happening two days out from the Storm v Broncos season opener.

  • Speculation is mounting that the new Wests Tigers coach Michael Maguire is prepared to dump their star signing Josh Reynolds to reserve grade. That’s about $1.3 million to play in the NSW Intrust super cup.
  • The disgraced Ben Barba was a feature on Channel Nine News last night abusing one of their reporters. Barba, now a truck driver, revealed he will be handing himself into Mackay police over allegations of domestic violence.

  • The not bitter Kevin Walters has publicly declared he doesn’t have a problem with Darren Lockyer and has moved on from not getting the top job at the Brisbane Broncos. The two will hopefully kiss and make up soon.

  • Despite whatever the outcome of the court verdict, reports suggest that either way the Dragons Jack de Belin will miss out on the Round one clash against the North Queensland Cowboys.

EAGLES DO THE DOUBLE!!!

The West Coast Eagles are an unstoppable force right now

From winning one of the most memorable AFL Grand Finals of all time only five and a half months ago over the Magpies, West Cost can now claim to have won the mythical JLT Series Premiership.

The AFL have not awarded a pre-season premiership since 2013 when it was won by the Brisbane Lions but a ladder has been produced after the two game JLT Community Series wrapped up yesterday by FOX Sports, it reads as follows.

SPURS PUT BACK IN THEIR CORNER

You might remember the iconic ABC series “The Games” starring the late John Clarke.

The program was a mockumentary on the organisers of the Sydney 2000 Olympics had an iconic scene dealing with the dilemma that the 100 meters track at the Stadium was actually 98 meters.

Well, a real-life 98 meter-running track-esque situation is being played out this time with Tottenham’s new $1.8 billion Stadium.

It seems that the corner of the pitch has no space to run up for the likes of Kieran Trippier and Christian Eriksen.

The Sun newspaper in the UK has also obtained images of just a foot of turf available at the corner flags before the pitch suddenly slopes off down towards the advertising hoardings.

In other Football news, the Matilda’s are reviving the iconic spew kit for their upcoming World Cup campaign and we wholeheartedly approve.
