Finding the winner in the Australian Guineas now looks a walk in the park after quality filly Verry Elleegant was withdrawn from the race after showing a mildly elevated temperature. Her scratching has allowed for the field’s only emergency Declarationofheart to gain a start with Damian Lane to ride.
There are both domestic and international form lines all over the place leading into this edition of the Australian Guineas and there really is a case to be made for nearly every horse.
Group 1 winner Amphitrite remains the sole occupant of the top line at publish from Tasmanian raider Mystic Journey, but the race really is living up to its billing as one of the most open Group 1 races on the Australian calendar.

The NBL Semi-Finals got underway last night and as anticipated, Melbourne United and the Perth Wildcats drew first blood against Brisbane and Sydney respectively.
United really know how to turn it on when it matters, and they started the Kings out of Game 1; holding the Sydney franchise to only 59 points and four in the final quarter. It was a similarly dominant scene in the nation’s west, where the Wildcats were barely troubled by a Bullets side that looks like exiting in straight sets.
Game 2 between the Bullets and Wildcats is slated for Saturday afternoon, while United will travel to Sydney on Sunday for their second fixture with the Kings.
The defending champion @MelbUnitedHQ make a major #NBLFinals statement, blowing out the @SydneyKings 95-73 to take a 1-0 lead in the best of 3 series.
The Kings will look to bounce back at home on Sun, but history isn’t on their side… they’ve never won a series trailing 0-1 😳 pic.twitter.com/og2T4oQKXS

Preparations are complete and we are just over a day from witness equine superstar Winx seeking a thirty-first consecutive win in the Chipping Norton Stakes.
Everyone knows the facts and figures that have been recorded by the champion mare so far, but a win in Saturday’s feature race at Randwick would see her equal Tie The Knot’s mark of four-consecutive Chipping Norton crowns, as well.
She looked spectacular at her final gallop this morning.
Tack on and morning stretches complete, onto the track she goes…..always the professional #winxhorse #CWRacing pic.twitter.com/UeJKJK14Rm
