Dizzy Miss Lizzy has not been seen at the races since October, but she stamped herself as a filly to follow during her debut preparation and can make a winning return this afternoon. The I Am Invincible filly raced greenly but finished off well for fourth at Newcastle on debut and improved noticeably into her second-up appearance; a half-length third over 1000m at Goulburn. Her most-recent effort; a dominant five-length win over 1100m here at Nowra was outstanding and a repeat of that effort would see her winning this.
Zabeel’s Choice is another horse that will resume at Nowra this afternoon and she looks a live chance of winning at a nice price ($7.50 at publish). The Snitzel mare has been a consistent performer for Bjorn Baker through her thirteen career starts so far and her first-up form is credible. She’s had the benefit of a trial leading into this race and will appreciate the soft track this afternoon.
Franquare has returned two good efforts this time and looks ready to peak third-up at Nowra this afternoon. The three-year-old daughter of Salade broke her maiden with ease over 1100m here at Nowra first-up before another good run for fourth in a far tougher race at Kembla Grange. This will be her first go at 1400m, but everything suggests she’ll see out the trip well.
