Quick Nick will appreciate the cut in the ground at Muswellbrook this afternoon and looks hard to beat. The Choisir gelding has returned to racing in competitive form this time and finished a credible third over 1000m at Tamworth first-up, before scoring by more than five lengths at Scone last month. His most-recent effort at Port Macquarie was only fair, but he’ll take improvement into this race and will enjoy a relief in the weights.
Christo is yet to miss a place during his short racing career so far and strikes another very winnable one at Muswellbrook this afternoon. The Duporth entire stamped himself as a horse to follow with a fair effort for third at Cowra on debut, before breaking his maiden in style at Dubbo second-up in February. He’s since worked home well to finish second at Mudgee and Scone and looks tough to beat in this company.
Majestic Pedrille will take plenty of benefit into her second campaign appearance at Muswellbrook today and will be tough to beat. The Lonhro mare displayed a keen turn of foot to run on for second at Tamworth first-up and will appreciate a rise in trip this afternoon. She has excellent form on soft going and the notable advantage of Hugh Bowman in the saddle today.
Odds-on favourite Noble Boy will be tough to beat, but the second-up Beauty Best will relish the conditions at Muswellbrook today and is over the odds at his current price. The Shellscrape gelding is only lightly-raced after failing to make it to the races in Hong Kong, but he’s returned a few credible efforts since returning and will strip fitter for a credible first-up run for sixth in the Nowra Country Championship Qualifier.
