Morphettville: Race 1 (1pm AEDT)
No. 3 Despatch

Despatch has not been seen at the races since June, but he typically flies fresh and strikes a very winnable one on Adelaide Cup Day. The Written Tycoon gelding is in fact yet to taste anything but success first-up and won at Listed level last time in. He’s won a pair of barrier trials in the lead-up to this race and looks ready to go.

Morphettville: Race 3 (2:10pm AEDT)
No. 5 Messerschmitt

Messerschmitt broke his maiden impressively last time out and can continue his rise through the grades in this race. The son of All Too Hard drops 5.5kgs from that effort and can take a position behind the early pace, before calling on a decent turn of foot. He looks a touch of over at his current price

Morphettville: Race 6 (4pm AEDT)
No. 1 Mighty Boss

Mighty Boss has returned to the track in competitive form this time and looks over the odds to win the CS Hayes Memorial Cup (1600m) this afternoon. He hasn’t won since taking out the 2017 Caulfield Guineas, but the Not A Single Doubt entire worked home well to finish fourth in a 1400m race at Flemington first-up this time before finishing sixth in the Blamey Stakes most-recently. He’ll take plenty of improvement into this race and will enjoy the step back in class.

Morphettville: Race 8 (5:25pm AEDT)
No. 3 Stellar Collision

Steller Collison has already received attention in betting, but he still looks over to odds to salute in a very winnable edition of the Matrice Stakes this afternoon. The Star Witness gelding will be having his second start for Ciaron Maher and David Eustace this afternoon, but he has been a strong and consistent performer throughout his entire racing career and scored over 1250m here at Morphettville two starts back. At his best, he has a clear edge over today’s rivals.
