Around the Tweets – NRL Round 1

Around the Tweets – NRL Round 1

Welcome to our new weekly blog – “Around the Tweets”, recapping the best of Twitter from another big weekend of Footy.

If there’s one social media platform that people go on for peace, love and understanding –it’s Twitter and each week we’ll share the love from the weekend that was according to the good people from Twitter dot com.

Thursday night –

Storm 22  def  Broncos 12

Matt Lodge went BANG.

Is Bellamy a chance to coach West Wyong thirds in the future?

Two tries in a minute from Corey Oates. Much like Lloyd Christmas, the Broncos were a chance

Meanwhile, at Wayne Bennett’s house

There was plenty of Love for Vossy on FOX League

FRIDAY

Knights (14) v Sharks (8)

The first half was an absolute Barry Crocker

It was 0-0 at half-time for the first time since Round 18, 2013

The Knights went on to win and their fans got a free coffee from Maccas. Come on guys, give away a Big Mac or something. What a letdown.

Roosters (16) v Souths (26)

The Bunnies got the job done over the reigning premiers and oldest rival.

The stats don’t lie either

SATURDAY

Warriors (40) v Bulldogs (6)

In what was an awful 24 hours in New Zealand, the players and fans paid their respects.

The Warriors got the job done and opened the gates for people to enjoy some Footy in a time of need.

Tigers (20) v Sea Eagles (6)

Mahe Founa’s hair caused much discussion.

How was this Manly fan able to Tweet if his phone was dead?

In any weather, Leichhardt Oval is a magnificent beast.

Cowboys (24) v Dragons (12)

One for the Ladies (and the fellas)

No JT? No Worries. That Taumalolo blokes goes alright.

SUNDAY

Panthers (12) v Eels (20)

Paramatta is a lock for the 2019 premiership after this win yesterday.  Yet again, the stats don’t lie.

Not getting ahead of yourself at all mate.

If there’s one thing the Panthers can do, it’s review their performance on tape. But not just of the games.

Neds Gold Coast Titans (0) v Canberra Raiders (20)

If there’s one thing the Neds Social team will do this season, is take a fair and balanced approach to how we cover teams we sponsor. Like the Neds Gold Coast Titans for instance.
