The Group 1 Vinery Stud Stakes is run over the 2000m at Rosehill Gardens and is the classic lead in for three year-old fillies to the Australian Oaks in two weeks time. This year’s field sees a number of very good fillies and it should be a cracking edition of the race.
She looks the stand out three year old filly to me and she is the deserving favourite. She still does plenty wrong in her races however she clearly has an enormous amount of talent. Her win in the Phar Lap at this track last start was very impressive and she handled the heavy track that day no problem. She looks as though the further she goes, the better she will be and I think she will go on and win the Oaks as well.
Nakeeta Jane is already a Group 1 winner and she looks a genuine star in the making. She was very brave chasing The Autumn Sun and Fundamentalist in the Randwick Guineas and is right in the mic here. I have her third as I’m not convinced she will run a strong 2000m but her ability will keep her in it a long way.
Was working home really well in the Kembla Grange Classic and will appreciate the step up in distance. Is a progressive type of horse and you can look for her running home late.
The VRC Oaks winner Aristia has been ticking away nicely leading into the Australian Oaks and her third placing behind Verry Elleegant was impressive. She handled the heavy track that day which is a big plus this time of year in Sydney and her chances will improve the further she goes in distance.
