Feature racing heads to central Victoria for a rich Bendigo meeting on Saturday with plenty of big fields of quality horse flesh. I’ve spent hours upon hours devouring the form to come up with my best plays for the nine race card.
Mandela Effect will have to overcome a bad draw however the four year old gelding has managed seven wins from 13 starts so far in his career. This has included wins at his last two outings and he will be tough to beat here.
I’m with the front running Waterhouse horse in Transact here. He is screaming out for the extra distance at his third run in this time and he gets it here. He was very brave with the big weight at Canberra and will appreciate the weight relief in this. He has drawn well in barrier six and makes his own luck on the speed.
The Executioner couldn’t have been more impressive on debut. He missed the kick 4 lengths but still managed to storm passed his rivals to score by almost three lengths. In contrast, he pinged the gates in the Magic Millions at Morphettville but was stuck three wide for most of the trip, and it
This is another tough race to assess however I think Creativity can run a cheeky race first-up over the 1100m. She is a mare that has a good turn of foot and this is her grade of racing. If Linda Meech can find a spot for her in the run, she will be doing her best work late.
La Bella Diosa was doing her best work late first-up in the Wenona Girl Quality at Randwick. A few of the horses that finished in front of her that day, Spright, Resin and Star Reflection have all run well since making it a pretty hot form race. She looks well placed to return to the winner’s stall.
Mosh Music is looking to continue building her picket fence after three impressive wins on the trot at Moonee Valley. She has won by a combined five lengths at her last two and she seems to be thriving over the staying distances.
Another extremely difficult race to assess but I have to stick with Zebulon. He has produced three excellent runs this prep after a very long lay off through injury. He has a good turn of foot at the end of his races and although I think there is a query at the mile, he looks to have the class to carry him the distance. He has drawn terribly however early money suggests he is ready to peak fourth up and should be fit enough.
Outrageous has competed in quality races for most of his career and this looks like a perfect type of race for him. He comes into this off the back of a nice win at HQ and he is a real threat.
Antah’s run of five straight wins came to an end with a narrow loss to Thunder Cloud two back. He chased gamely last start at Flemington however the two leaders had kicked away and there was too much ground to make up late. He can return to the winner’s stall in the last.
