There is no Winx (BOO) but there is plenty of quality racing available for punters at Rosehill on Saturday. The Group 1 Coolmore Classic headlines a great day of racing and we have are here to give punters a leg up.
My 2019 Coolmore Classic Day Tips and Preview can be found below.
You Make Me Smile managed three impressive wins in a row before running fourth in a tough race last time out. He did a lot of work that day and was eyeballing a pretty smart one in Dreamforce rounding the turn. He has proven that he is a very tough front runner and nothing suggests to me that he can’t return to the winners stall stepping back down in grade.
I have a lot of time for this progressive horse out of the Joe Pride stable. He has worked his way up through the grades and was only narrowly denied in the Takeover Target last time out. He will appreciate the freshen up and his trial leading into this was good.
Godolphin has an absolute stranglehold on the juvenile races at the moment and I’m sticking with Athiri in this after the Lonhro filly ran super in the Blue Diamond Stakes at Caulfield. She won on debut at Rosehill and she has drawn the inside gate in this which should benefit.
I’m with the Snowden pair in this and am leading toward the horse with the fitness edge in Cosmic Force. The son of Deep Field was caught by the smart Microphone first up but I was very impressed by the way he responded when that horse went passed him. He is a talented horse and can put himself right into Slipper calculations with a win here.
I have a huge wrap for this filly and this is my best bet of the day. She was enormous first-up in the Vanity and the further she goes, the better she will get. Perfect barrier, James Mcdonald steers, just get on as early as you can!
This is not the pet distance for Patrick Erin however he can run a race. He has form on rain effected tracks and can run a race at nice odds.
This very consistent mare drops 3.5kgs on her first-up fourth behind White Moss in the Millie Fox Stakes and she has drawn perfectly in gate 7. Her previous effort in group 1 company was good, finishing only 2.65L behind Prompt Response in the Tatt’s Tiara at Doomben and I think she measures up well here at a good price.
A couple of key scratchings in the race and I simply have to side with the class galloper in Fifty Stars. He is a very good horse and he should be winning a race of this quality. One from one in heavy going and three from three in the soft.
Supernova caught the eye with a flashy second behind Sondelon at his Australian debut. Everything points to him being much better over further and he gets that here. He has drawn perfectly and I think he can be competitive in a much better grade of racing than this.
