16 Times When Sports Fans Attacked

What happens when fans turn on their teams?

Awkwardness, Violence, memorable moments and of course hilarity.

While we don’t condone any of the acts these fans and players have done to each other over the years, we have been able to come up with a compilation of supporters taking matters into their own hands.

(1) This weekend A pitch invader ran onto the pitch and punched Aston Villa’s Jack Grealish during the derby game at Birmingham.

(2) Who can forget the time this Springbox fan tried to tackle the Referee during a scrum.

(3) Still, in South Africa, this Kaiser Chiefs fan decided to use his Vuvuzela when wanting to address his concerns with the referee.

(4) The good old days of State of Origin when fans at Lang Park saw fit to chuck beer cans on the ground during the match.

(5) When a Richmond fan decided to dump a pile of chicken shit outside Punt Road Oval after a poor performance against the Cats.

(6) Who could forget when Andrew Symonds took on a streaker at the Gabba?

(7) Greg Chappell also had his moment with a streaker back in the day.

(8) Rather than take it out on the players, go the Mascot.

(9) Goal umpires get paid peanuts.

(10) The NBA has a long history of “immoral” actions from its fans.

(11) So does Baseball – what a surprise!

(12) Back in 1995, Eric Cantona went Kung-Fu Fighting.

(13) Full on violence between player and fan in Ice Hockey! Well, I never.

(14) Huston, we have a problem.

(15) A Brawl. Between players and fans. In the wholesome peaceful gentlemen’s game of Ice Hockey. Back in the 1970’s. How is it even possible?

(16) Malice at the Palace.
