Major Danger showed decent ability during his maiden preparation and looks well placed to break his maiden first-up at the Sapphire Coast today. The Time Thief gelding took plenty of benefit from his debut run for fourth at Moruya in August when he was just edged out on the line at Goulburn last time out, and he can go straight to the lead from barrier 4 today.
Tiger By The Tale has been a consistent performer this time and looks over the odds to win the Showcasing Sprint at the Sapphire Coast today ($7 at publish). The seven-year-old has been up and racing for a long time, but carried a heavy weight to third in the Moruya Town Plate (1200m) two starts back before finishing two lengths off the winner in the Narooma Town Plate (1310m) last time out. He’s rock-hard fit and has plenty of options from the rails draw today.
Appoint Percy has been a strong and consistent performer for Luke Pepper and looks beautifully placed in the Cup race on the Sapphire Coast this afternoon. The Sir Percy gelding strung together a couple of smart wins in Canberra late last year and has finished fifth in a Highway Handicap over a mile at Randwick, and third in the Moruya Cup (1425m) most recently. A return to a mile is ideal and he’ll be hard to beat.
