The daughter of Epaulette broke her maiden at Cranbourne in late November and has continued to race well as she’s stepped out in trip and as trainer James Cummings has raised the bar. She has finished a close second at her two most-recent starts and will give them something to chase today.
The Maher & Eustace-trained Al Galayel has found career-best form this time and looks beautifully placed in this afternoon’s Group 3 Hobart Cup (2400m). The Zoffany gelding strung together two impressive wins over 2040om at The Valley in December and returned from four weeks off to finish a half-length second at Caulfield last time out. He’ll take plenty of improvement from that run into this race and will appreciate getting out to a mile and a half.
Five-year-old I Remember You resumed for a dominant win at Launceston three weeks ago and will be extremely tough to beat in the last today. The daughter of Written Tycoon was settled just behind the pace by jockey Sigrid Carr at Launceston first-up and unleashed a big turn of foot to beat his closest rivals by close to four lengths. With improvement, she looks too good for today’s rivals.
