Cawbourne Cruz was checked out of his most-recent run but has recorded several impressive performances and results this campaign and can return to winning form in the tenth at Hatrick this afternoon. The son of Swift Fancy was a dominant winner here late last month and continued to performer well in tougher grades without winning; finishing second over 375m two starts back most notably. He’s rock-hard fit and does have an edge over most of today’s rivals at his best.
Push Your Luck has recorded several pleasing results recently and looks well placed to win at Richmond again today. All in all, the daughter of Fabregas has won four of her six most-recent starts and placed on the other two occasions, and she has shown a particularly strong affiliation with the 400m circuit here at Richmond. This is a drop in class from her most-recent effort for second and she’ll take a power of beating.
Winsome Stride failed to fire last week, but his form prior was excellent and he is good enough to win a race of this quality, at a nice price. The son of Fernando Bale has been finishing off his races extremely well and as long as he doesn’t run into early trouble from his central box, he can fight out the finish.
Hotplate has been flying since returning from a break and can score a third-consecutive win at Wentworth Park tonight. The three-year-old has finished outside the places only once in seven starts since Boxing Day, but his two most-recent performances have been particularly dominant and a repeat of either would see him winning again.
