A quality group of three year olds assemble for the feature race of the day at Headquarters on Saturday. The time-honoured Australia Guineas will be run and won over the 1600m and I am confident I have found the winner at a good price.

Dalaalaat has not been seen at the races or the trials however he is a half brother to the smart filly Heatherly who won six of her 18 race starts including the Group 2 Rubiton Stakes at Caulfield. The early money suggests the colt can run well and Lindsay Park know how to produce these young ones.
Naval Warfare has been racing consistently of late and this is his 11th run this time in so he should be plenty fit for this contest! If he can carry the weight and overcome a bad barrier he will be right in this race.
I Am Someone has won his last two races by a combined 7.25 lengths including a truly dominant victory down the straight six at HQ back on the 19th of January. He is a horse that has enormous upside and although this is a good test for the horse, he has been kept on the fresh side and with no weight on his back, will prove tough to run down.
The day she won at The Valley showed me that this filly has a fair amount of talent and I think she can develop into a Group class mare with age and experience. She had to do a mountain of work in that win at The Valley and if she is wound up to run well first up she is very much a winning chance. Watch betting.
Brilliant Choice sat on the speed first up at The Valley and won with arrogance going away from his rivals. He ran right through the line and he has form around the smart Nakeeta Jane. He should get a soft run from barrier five and will give them all something to chase.
This is a very interesting runner from the Aaron Purcell stable at Warrnambool. He is a very lightly raced seven year old gelding with a nice record. He won the Listed City Of Adelaide Handicap by four lengths way back in April of 2016 before injury struck. In his first run for Purcell and his first run in two years, he made up plenty of late ground at the track and distance. He is currently $15 and is huge overs in my opinion in a wide open race.
I can’t help but be super impressed with the two runs so far by Manuel this time in. His win in the Group 1 Memsie was obviously a huge spike in rating however his last start fifth behind Alizee last week was enormous. He missed the kick and had to do a lot of work to get the the front and had every right to fade late however he fought on really well. He has a good record when backing up and I think punters are still under rating the horse which is represented in his current price.
I actually like two in this at $10 and I think they are both worth backing. Ringerdingding’s closing sectionals last week in the Futurity were ridiculous. Another 200m and back to his own age and he is a massive player in this. I’m struggling to understand why Amphitrite is currently holding favouritism in the race as I thought Verry Elleegant was a far better run in the Vanity Stakes. You are getting over double the price!
This is a big step up in class for Clarice Cliffs however it is not full of super stars so I think she will be tough to beat. She has won three of her three starts to date including a six length romping at Pakenham last time out. This is by far away her biggest test to date however.
