Curtains for Clubs in Europe

The final round of Champions League Pool matches will take place this morning and only sixteen teams will remain in contention after today. All but one position the knockout stage of the tournament has been taken and the winner of this morning’s Shakhtar Donetsk vs Lyon match in the Ukraine will join Manchester City in progressing from Group F.

Superhard has produced several outstanding performances this time and will be tough to beat with the Darren Weir polish, but he’s sure to face plenty of resistance from the likes of Lord Sundowner and Gold Fields.

Gearing Up for Group 1 Glory

It’s been a big week for racing in Tasmania – Last night’s Conquering Stakes at Launceston headlined an impressive Thoroughbred card, while sights will be set on Hobart tonight for the first round of heats for the Hobart Thousand; the oldest greyhound race in Australia and the sole Group 1 feature race on the Tasmanian greyhound calendar.

The A-League is Expanding!

The FFA has confirmed that Western Melbourne Group and South-West Sydney have been awarded A-League licenses. Confirmed this morning, the two new clubs will enter the A-League as the eleventh and twelfth teams in the competition from the 2020/21 season.

Ashwin, Sharma Out of Perth Test

India’s chances of taking a 2-0 series lead have taken a major blow, with star spinner Ravi Ashwin and Rohit Sharma both ruled out of the second test in Perth tomorrow. Ashwin, who took six wickets for India in Adelaide, has succumbed to a left-abdominal strain, while Sharma reportedly jarred his back during the first test and will also be missing. Australia have subsequently firmed into $1.95 favoritism to win the test.
