English Premier League Week 15 Preview

English Premier League Week 15 Preview

It’s a huge week of action in the EPL and Week 15 will take place on Wednesday and Thursday mornings respectively.

There’s plenty of vital points on offer in Week 15 and it looms as a great opportunity for several clubs that were unlucky not to win last weekend, to respond.

Brighton vs Crystal Palace
Brighton to Win ($2.85)

Brighton

Last 5 Matches: WLLDW
Ladder Position: 11th
Goal Difference: -4 (GF 16, GA 20)

Palace

Last 5 Matches: DLLDW
Ladder Position: 14th
Goal Difference: -7 (GF 10, GA 17)

A pretty even affair to open the round as Brighton hosts Palace. Both clubs recorded smart wins in Week 14 and will be confident of taking the spoils from this one as well. Palace have been extremely difficult to trust from a betting perspective and I think Brighton can sneak home in a low-scorer.

West Ham vs Cardiff City
West Ham to Win ($1.80)

West Ham

Last 5 Matches: DWDLW
Ladder Position: 13th
Goal Difference: -5 (GF 17, GA 22)

Cardiff

Last 5 Matches: LLWLW
Ladder Position: 16th
Goal Difference: -14 (GF 13, GA 27)

Another two Week 14 winners and this looms as a great opportunity for both West Ham and Cardiff. I gave Cardiff virtually no hope of beating the talented Wolves side, but they put together their best performance of the season to win and a repeat of that effort would find them difficult to beat again. It is tough imagining them stringing two together, however and I’m happy to back the Hammers.

Bournemouth vs Huddersfield Town
Bournemouth to Win ($1.80)

Bournemouth

Last 5 Matches: WLLLL
Ladder Position: 9th
Goal Difference: +2 (GF 23, GA 21)

Huddersfield

Last 5 Matches: LWDWL
Ladder Position: 17th
Goal Difference: -15 (GF 9, GA 24)

Bournemouth’s losing streak continued last week but currently, any club can be forgiven for dropping all the points to Manchester City. They simply will not be offered a better opportunity to fight back into the winner’s stall than they find here and at home, I think that they’ll do just that.

best bet
Watford vs Manchester City
City Win to Nil ($2.35)

Watford

Last 5 Matches: WLDLL
Ladder Position: 10th
Goal Difference: -2 (GF 17, GA 19)

City

Last 5 Matches: WWWWW
Ladder Position: 1st
Goal Difference: +38 (GF 43, GA 6)

There’s a huge class difference between these two clubs and I am more than happy to continue riding City. They’ve conceded only six goals all season and it’s hard imagining them being troubled too much by the Hornets.

Wolves vs Chelsea
Chelsea to Win ($1.80)

Wolves

Last 5 Matches: LLDLL
Ladder Position: 12th
Goal Difference: -4 (GF 13, GA 17)

Chelsea

Last 5 Matches: WWDLW
Ladder Position: 3rd
Goal Difference: +19 (GF 30, GA 11)

Another big class difference between Wolves and Chelsea, particularly in current form and It could be a long day at the office for the home side. Their worrying dip in form hit an all-time low last weekend when they lost to Cardiff and they will face a huge task in reversing their fortunes this week.

Burnley vs Liverpool
Liverpool Win to Nil ($2)

Burnley

Last 5 Matches: LLDLL
Ladder Position: 19th
Goal Difference: -16 (GF 13, GA 29)

Liverpool

Last 5 Matches: WDWWW
Ladder Position: 2nd
Goal Difference: +22 (GF 27, GA 5)

Burnley’s horrid run of form continued via a Week 14 loss to Crystal Palace and it surely will not change when they host Liverpool on Thursday morning. Liverpool stole the Merseyside Derby in the final minute of play last weekend and should just be winning this.

Fulham vs Leicester City
Leicester to Win ($2.40)

Fulham

Last 5 Matches: LLLWL
Ladder Position: 20th
Goal Difference: -21 (GF 14, GA 35)

Leicester

Last 5 Matches: DWDDW
Ladder Position: 8th
Goal Difference: +3 (GF 20, GA 17)

It was back to losing form for the last-placed Fulham last weekend and every match from this point onwards will be a difficult prospect. The ever-consistent Foxes consolidated their position in the top ten with a smart win over Watford and I fully expect them to repeat that effort and result here.

Everton vs Newcastle United
Everton to Win ($1.70)

Everton

Last 5 Matches: LWDWL
Ladder Position: 6th
Goal Difference: +4 (GF 20, GA 16)

Newcastle

Last 5 Matches: DWWWL
Ladder Position: 15th
Goal Difference: -8 (GF 11, GA 19)

Newcastle squandered a beautiful opportunity to make it four in a row when they were thrashed by West Ham at home last weekend and they face a far better team in the form of Everton this week. The Toffees were unlucky to drop all the points to Liverpool in the final minute of the Merseyside Derby and I’m confident they respond with a win.

Manchester United vs Arsenal
Arsenal to Win ($3)

United

Last 5 Matches: WWLDD
Ladder Position: 7th
Goal Difference: -1 (GF 22, GA 23)

Arsenal

Last 5 Matches: DDDWW
Ladder Position: 4th
Goal Difference: +14 (GF 32, GA 18)

We have to wait until the second-last match of round for Week 15 to hit its peak, but Manchester United vs Arsenal at Old Trafford will hopefully live up to the billing. United were held to a draw by Southampton last weekend, while Arsenal recorded arguably their best result of the season with a tough win over North London rivals Tottenham. I don’t understand why the Gunners have been priced as such clear outsiders and I’m happy to take the $3 currently on offer.

Tottenham Hotspur vs Southampton
Over 3 Goals ($2.05)

Spurs

Last 5 Matches: LWWWL
Ladder Position: 5th
Goal Difference: +10 (GF 25, GA 15)

Southampton

Last 5 Matches: DLDLD
Ladder Position: 18th
Goal Difference: -14 (GF 12, GA 26)

Spurs will be eager to respond to last weekend’s North London Derby loss when they host Southampton. The Saints produced a terrific performance to draw with Manchester United, but they’ll need to find another gear if they are to compete with a better quality of opposition, away from home.
