Two clubs with an identical win-loss record through the last five weeks will square off in the final match of the A-League round this afternoon. The Jets were given a wake-up call by Melbourne City last week and they will relish a return home. Brisbane are extremely difficult to trust from a betting perspective this season and will need to be at their best on the road.
It will be first versus last when the high-flying Wildcats host the struggling Taipans in the nation’s west this afternoon. There is daylight between these two clubs this season and it could prove to be an extremely long night at the office for the North Queensland side. This will be the second game for both clubs in Round 8 and I think that the line, currently set at 7.5 points still looks a pretty easy task for Perth.
The Carolina Panthers will travel to Cleveland early tomorrow morning and attempt to keep their playoffs hopes alive. The Panthers have their season well and truly on the line here. Not only do they look the more talented team, they also have a huge motivational edge. At only 1-point, I’m confident in a road win and cover for Carolina.
The Patriots can clinch the AFC East yet again by beating the Dolphins in Miami early tomorrow morning. Although the Patriots have historically struggled in Miami, they have the significant talent edge in this one. They are locked in a battle with Houston for the #2 seed in the Conference, so I expect a motivated effort here and I think that they can open an early lead and maintain throughout.
