Daily Sports Tips – Friday, December 7

Tennessee Titans vs Jacksonville Jaguars (12:20pm AEDT)
Titans (-4.5)

The Jaguars have been far more competitive recently, but they’ve also been impossible to trust from a betting perspective all season and I am confident that Tennessee can cover a line set at only 4.5 points this morning. Having gone 0-8 in his previous start, I really don’t see how Cody Kessler is an upgrade on the already terrible Blake Bortles. This means that they’ll have to lean considerably on the rushing attack, with the defense stacking the box accordingly. With several injuries on this Jaguars offensive line, I also expect a huge day from the Tennessee defensive front.

Cairns Taipans vs Illawarra Hawks (6:50pm AEDT)
Hawks to Win ($2.25)

The Hawks were easily beaten by the Bullets in Brisbane last round, but they’ve managed a few good performances in recent weeks and are probably unlucky not to be sporting a better record than 4-7. Their most-recent win over Adelaide was outstanding and a repeat of that performance would see them winning this game. I think they are a better team than Cairns and I am happy to take the $2.25 currently on offer in head-to-head betting.

Western Sydney Wanderers vs Central Coast Mariners (7:50pm AEDT)
Draw ($4.15)

Round 7 of the A-League is underway when a couple of the league’s strugglers do battle in Western Sydney tonight. The Wanderers were given a real wakeup call when they left Melbourne on the wrong end of a 4-0 score line last week, but this does loom as an ideal opportunity to respond. They’re too short for me in head-to-head betting given the Mariners’ tough performances against Sydney FC last week, and I’m happy to sit on the fence.

Daily Multi
Maple Leafs, Lightning Both to Win
Combined Odds of $2.94

We’ve had some terrific fortune with NHL multis this week and I’m confident that both the Maple Legs and Lightning can get it done again this morning. The Leafs have won five on the trot and are primed to make light work of the lowly Detroit Red Wings in Toronto. The Lightning meanwhile have won their last four, lead the way in Atlantic Division and can consolidate their position by beating the Bruins at home.
