Daily Racing Tips – Thursday, December 13

Coffs Harbour: Race 1 (1:10pm AEDT)
No. 5 Bubbles Ball

Bubbles Ball has finished second in each of her two career starts to date and looks ready to peak third-up at Coffs Harbour this afternoon. The Zoustar filly stamped herself as one to watch when she ran on well to finish second at Muswellbrook on debut last month, before just missing over 1100m at Quirindi last time out. On exposed form, she is clearly the horse to beat today and she’s drawn ideally in barrier 3.

Queanbeyan: Race 1 (1:30pm AEDT)
No. 4 Havelka

Havelka has been racing well this time and won’t be offered a better opportunity to break her maiden than she finds at Queanbeyan this afternoon. The daughter of Hinchinbrook took up the running at Canberra last time out and was only beaten in the last 100m by Fabricator and Luga Lad; the latter having since run well at Wagga this week. She can go straight to the lead from barrier 2 this afternoon and will be hard to catch.

Coffs Harbour: Race 2 (1:45pm AEDT)
No. 12 Casurina Star

Queensland raider Casurina Star has only made one competitive appearance at the races, but she looks to be a filly with plenty of talent and can break her maiden in the second at Coffs today. The daughter of Star Witness was settled off the pace on the Sunshine Coast on debut and mustered an eye-catching turn of foot to finish fifth. Ryan Maloney can take a position slightly closer to the pace from barrier 7 this afternoon and Casurina Star will look to finish over the top of her rivals.

Warrnambool: Race 7 (6:30pm AEDT)
No. 5 Superhard

The Darren Weir-trained Superhard has returned to racing in excellent form this time and will be hard to beat in this afternoon’s Port Fairy Cup (1400m). The All Too Hard gelding recorded consecutive wins at Moe at Bendigo through October, before running second behind Cochada over a mile at Flemington on Oaks Day. He was last seen finished fourth in the Haymarket at Ballarat over this trip last time out and does face a weaker field this afternoon.
