Declares War is yet to miss a place through four career starts and looks beautifully placed to keep alive a winning run of form at HQ this afternoon. The Declaration Of War colt tamped himself as a horse to watch with a decent debut performance at Horsham in October and he has continued to improve with racing; stringing together a couple of nice wins at Sandown and The Valley most-recently. He’s drawn ideally in barrier 3 and harbours an impressive turn of foot.
Native Solider is the early favourite to win the Magic Millions 3YO Guineas in January and he can make a winning return to the races in the seventh at Flemington today. The Sepoy colt resumed in Spring for a credible third in the Group 3 Vain Stakes (1100m) and continued to impress through four subsequent starts, highlighted by wins in the Group 3 McNeil Stakes (1200m) and Group 3 Caulfield Guineas Prelude (1400m). At publish he is available at $5 and that does look overs.
My Nordic Hero will carry winning form into the Villiers Stakes and can fight out the finish at a nice price ($8 at publish). The Archipenko gelding resumed this time with smart run for second over 1400m and was far too good for his rivals in the Group 3 Festival Stakes (1500m) last time out. He’ll only improve third-up and at a mile, and he has the notable advantage of Hugh Bowman in the saddle once more.
Niccanova has returned to racing in outstanding form this time and will be tough to beat in the Lough Neagh Stakes this afternoon. The Nicconi gelding returned from a freshen-up to finish second over 1200m here in September and has since mustered two impressive performances to win at the track and distance, including the Listed Recognition Stakes last time out. He relishes racing on heavy and will be hard to run down.
