Orange: Race 3 (3:25pm AEDT)
No. 12 Age Of War

Age Of War will take plenty of benefit into her second-up appearance at Orange this afternoon and simply will not be offered a better opportunity to break her maiden. The Snitzel filly showed good ability during a short debut preparation without securing an elusive win and resumed this time for a close-up third behind Charretera at Newcastle earlier this month. She looks the one of beat.

Orange: Race 5 (4:40pm AEDT)
No. 3 Brigid Of Kildare

Brigid Of Kildare broke her maiden with a nice performance at Muswellbrook last time out and looks beautifully placed to continue her rise through the grades at Orange today. The Street Cry mare raced greenly but hit the line well for third on debut at Kembla Grange on November 17 and had clearly taken plenty of benefit into her last start and win. With added improvement, she can take it two-in-a-row.

Taree: Race 6 (5pm AEDT)
No. 5 Pickelhaube

Pickelhaube is a proven second-up performer and will be hard to beat in the sixth at Taree this afternoon. The Helmet gelding strung together a competitive campaign in his final preparation for Godolphin earlier this year, but clearly needed the run when he finished fourth at Newcastle first-up this time, in what was his first competitive start for Kris Lees.

No. 2 Prima Stella

Prima Stella was an impressive winner at Mudgee last time out and is over the odds the repeat that effort and result this afternoon ($11 at publish). The Redoute’s Show gelding ben produced a few good performances this time in, and a change in tactics to sit in behind the leader last time out paid dividends. He will need luck from the outside stall, but he’s up to winning a race of this calibre.
