The Lightning will host local rivals the Panthers in Tampa this morning and should be recording another win. Its been another smart start to the season for the Lightning, who are 14-7 and second behind the Maple Leafs in the Atlantic Division by a single game. The Panthers are bottom of the same conference after recording only eight wins and while they have been a bit better of late, they face a huge task today.
The Bullets have been desperately unlucky to lose their three most-recent games, but I am confident that they can finally return to the winner’s stall tonight. Close efforts against the Wildcats and Breakers in Round 5 were consolidated when they pushed reigning champions Melbourne all the way last weekend, and the score blowout at the end of the game really wasn’t an indicator of the evening. Illawarra have produced a few competitive performances but face another tough task on the road tonight.
There’s plenty of NHL action set to take place today and great odds on offer for three firm favourites, the Lightning, Predators and Wild all to win their respective games. As outlined above, the Lightning should be too good for the Panthers. The Predators are a class above St Louis and will be confident of winning at home. The Wild are the firmest favourites of the day and will be a real handful for the travelling Senators.
