This is the second time that the Saints and Falcons have squared off this season and I am confident that the home side will win a competitive one. The Saints have recorded and impressive 9-1 record this season and they really do look a side capable of a deep run through the playoffs. The Falcons interestingly started as favourites the last time that they met and while I think they will put up a fight, I can’t see them taking the win.
This looks to be the game of the round and we’re set for a thrilling contest across the ditch this afternoon. The Breakers were unable to beat Melbourne and Sydney in Round 6 and face an even tougher task in containing the current competition leaders. The Wildcats have ultimately been the league’s benchmark for several seasons and they have absolutely flown the gates this season; recording an impressive eight wins from their first nine games. They are over the odds as outsiders here and are my best bet of the entire NBL weekend.
An interesting match between a couple of similarly-formed sides opens Week 5 of the A-League when the Wanderers and Jets meet in Western Sydney. Neither club has hit peak condition yet, but the Wanderers have certainly exceeded early season expectations. This looms as another terrific opportunity to press for a position in the top four and at home, I think the Wanderers will be hard to beat in a low-scorer.
