2018 Kennedy Oaks Betting Update

Fifteen three-year-old fillies have been confirmed and there is plenty of value to be found in 2018 Kennedy Oaks betting. Amphitrite was luckless in the Group 1 Empire Rose Stakes (1600m) on Derby Day, but she has drawn ideally into Thursday’s field in barrier 5 and has opened the $3.60 favourite in Kennedy Oaks betting. The Sebring filly has enjoyed a meteoric rise to prominence this time and broke her maiden at Sale first-up in September, before completing a successful rise through the grades that has also delivered wins in the Group 2 Edward Manifold Stakes (1600m) and Group 1 Thousand Guineas (1600m) most notably. There is always something of a question mark over three-year-olds when they step out to these longer distances, but Amphitrite has the runs on the board and is a live chance with Craig Williams in the saddle. Aristia and Verry Elleegant have both produced terrific efforts this time in and currently share the second line of 2018 Kennedy Oaks betting at $4.50 quotes. Aristia stamped herself as a filly to follow upon debuting in December last year, but it interestingly took ten starts before she broke her maiden in the Group 2 Wakeful Stakes (2000m) last weekend. She took a couple of runs to tune up upon resuming in August, but her form recently hard been terrific and she finished a half-head second behind Verry Elleegant in the Group 3 Ethereal Stakes (2000m) two starts back before turning the tables. Verry Elleegant probably produced the flattest run of her career in the Wakeful last weekend, but her form prior was amongst the best of any three-year-old filly this season and she remains a live threat of winning the Oaks. The Zed filly ran on well to finish third in the Edward Manifold on debut in Australia before her dominant win in the Ethereal Stakes. Her breeding suggests that she’ll relish the 2500m of the Oaks but will need to overcome the potentially awkward barrier 13. Qafila ($8) has timed her run of form perfectly for this race and she is interestingly the only other runner currently available at Kennedy Oaks odds of less-than $10. Qafila won the Debutant Stakes on debut last spring and she has continued to produce eye-catching performances throughout her ten subsequent career starts. He run for fourth over 2040m at Moonee Valley on Cox Plate Day was impressive, but she savaged the line to finish second in the Wakeful last weekend and is another filly that looks like she’ll relish the increase in trip.
