Sikorsky will take plenty of benefit into his second-up run at Geelong today and will prove extremely difficult to beat. The son of Pierro was sent for a spell after he failed to fire on debut in black type company earlier this year but returned with a strong performance for second over 1200m here at Geelong a fortnight ago. He’ll need to show some speed from a wide draw this afternoon but on exposed form, he does look to have an edge.
Tony’s Decree has shown good ability through his short racing career so far and won’t be offered a better opportunity to break his maiden than he finds at Toowoomba this afternoon. The Duporth gelding clearly needed the run when he finished midfield on debut at Ipswich, but he has since run on extremely well to finish third and second in over starts at 1350m and 1666m respectively. He’s drawn ideally in barrier 2 and looks the winner.
Furrion has not been seen at the races since May, but he is a horse with plenty of ability and he can make a winning return in the penultimate at Geelong this afternoon. The son of Camelot debuted in April for an impressive win at Stawell and continued to impress via two subsequent wins at Ballarat and Warrnambool respectively. He was last seen finishing second behind Lucky For All in his first metro class race and will be hard to beat here.
Indernile is another horse that will strip fitter into his second-up run this afternoon and looks over the odds at his current double-figure quote ($11/$3.50 at the time of publish). The Street Boss gelding lined up amongst smart company at Sale first-up a fortnight ago and flashed home on the outside of his rivals to post an impressive two-length win. The same trip today looks ideal and he has typically raced in harder company than he finds this afternoon.
