She’s Deluxe has improved with racing this time and is primed to break her maiden over 2200m at Pakenham this afternoon. The Savabeel mare resumed for a credible sixth over a mile on August 12th, before enjoying an increase in trip and her time on-pace when second by a nose over 2000m last time out. She’s drawn ideally to find passage to the lead and will be extremely difficult to beat.
Smart Remark will carry winning form into the second at Queanbeyan this afternoon and can make it two-in-a-row. The Oratorio gelding shook off the cobwebs with a good on-pace performance for second in a Sapphire Coast sprint first-up in late July, before another good run for second at Wagga. He broke his maiden in dominant fashion last time out and with a small weight in tow today, will employ similar on-pace tactics and will give them something to chase.
Red Gucci failed to fire last week, but he has been a strong and consistent performer for Saab Hasan this time and can bounce back at Pakenham this afternoon, at a nice price ($11 at the time of publish). The Redente mare finished second at long odds behind the speedy Satori three starts back, before a credible performance for fourth at this track and distance. She was fractious in the barriers before finishing ninth at Geelong last time out but doesn’t face a particularly talented field today and can fight out the finish.
Heartlet has returned two good efforts this time and is ready to peak third-up in the penultimate at Queanbeyan today. The Duke Of Marmalade mare took up the running over 1500m first-up and was entitled to weaken late, but boxed on to the line well to finish second. She took plenty of benefit into her second-up run two weeks ago but was luckless in transit; eventually working home well to finish fifth when offered clear running. Kerry Parker’s horses are running well currently and Heartlet is good enough to return the stable another win.
