We’re set for a thrilling contest when the Eagles host the Dees in the nation’s west this afternoon and the former can consolidate their position in second by grinding out a win. The Eagles are amidst another exciting campaign and they really do look like a club that could challenge the defending premiers on the final day of the season. The Dees look set to play finals football but realistically, they’ll face too great a task this week.
The Raiders are faced with the unenviable task of containing the red-hot Roosters at home this afternoon and will need to find a season-best performance to compete. It did take the Roosters a little while to find peak form this year, but they’ve timed their run to absolute perfection ahead of the finals and stamped themselves as the club to beat by beating the Rabbits in last weekend’s top-of-the-table clash. They look good once again and can cover a line set at only 6.5 points.
There’s plenty of exciting Premier League action remaining in Week 2 of the competition and the Clarets can register their first win of the season over Watford tonight. Burnley was outstanding in 2017/18 and they did well to contain a decent Southampton outfit away from home in Week 1. Watford were good enough to beat Brighton at home, but they are typically far better at Vicarage Road and will find Burnley extremely tough to beat.
Brighton face an uphill task in registering their first win of the new Premier League season when they host Manchester United tonight. The Seagulls failed to take anything from their opening-round match with Watford and return to the Amex off the back of a comfortable 2-0 defeat. United opened their campaign in the best way possible with a 2-1 win over Leicester City and realistically, they should be facing an easier task tonight.
