The Eels and Titans will square off in Sydney this evening and the former can build off a competitive run of form by winning. It has well and truly been a season to forget for the struggling Eels and while they are well and truly out of contention, they have started to put it together a little more in recent weeks and beat the Bulldogs, before going within a try of the ladder-topping Bunnies last weekend. The Titans are difficult to trust from a betting perspective, particularly away from home and they face another tough task in Round 21. The line is currently set at only 2.5 points and that looks like a terrific bet, in favour of the home side.
The Crusaders are in line for a record ninth Super Rugby title when they host the Lions in Christchurch this evening and betting suggests that they will easily achieve the feat. Undefeated since Round 5 and undefeated at home for more than two years, the Crusaders will take their place in this fixture off the back of another outstanding campaign and they really are the benchmark of southern hemisphere club rugby. The Lions are a spirited side, but they’ve scraped through their two finals games so far and stand little chance in New Zealand.
The Swans and Pies will do battle in Sydney tonight and the away side can consolidate their position in the top four by winning. The Swans are a mere shell of their former selves and they slumped to their second-consecutive defeat at the hands of the Bombers last week. That followed a particularly grim performance against the lowly Suns and the end of the season really cannot come quickly enough. The Pies should comfortably win this game and take another step towards a finals berth.
Daily Three-Leg Multi
There’s plenty of MLB action to take in today and great odds on offer when you multi the Nationals, Pirates and Twins to win their respective games. The Nationals are seeking to remain in touch with the Phillies and Braves in the NL East and should be too good for the Reds this morning. The Pirates have found a great run of form and will look to get the upper hand over the Cardinals in Pittsburgh. The Twins can cut the Indians’ lead by one in the AL Central by overcoming the Royals at home.
