Paul Gallen and Johnathan Thurston will square off for the final time when the Sharks host the Cowboys this evening and we were set for an outstanding game. Both clubs secured impressive wins last week and this has become a fiery rivalry in recent season. It has been a disappointing final season for future immortal Thurston, but he and his side will take plenty of confidence into this game after last weekend’s impressive triumph over the Broncos. The Sharks will be tough to beat at home, but the Cowboys are good enough to beat the line.
The Wallabies and All Blacks will square off in the first Bledisloe Test in Sydney tonight and Australia are offered a fresh opportunity to break their long drought in the time-honoured contest. It’s always a huge task in overcoming the world’s best team but the Wallabies have only suffered 3-0 defeats on five occasions since last winning the trophy in 2002 and this undoubtedly looms as their best chance of winning in this 2018 series. They can certainly cover a line currently set at 10.5 points.
Week 2 of the Premier League is underway from tonight and we are set for several exciting games, including this one between the Bluebirds and Magpies in Wales. It was a baptism of fire for Cardiff in the first fixture back in England’s top league when they failed to contain a decent Bournemouth outfit and left the south on the wrong end of a 2-0 score line. Newcastle were good enough to compete with live premiership threat Tottenham in Week 2 and while they did lose, they’re offered a far better opportunity here.
