Invincible Lad has typically raced in tough company than he finds at Kembla Grange this afternoon and can make it two wins on the trot. The son of I Am Invincible resumed this time for a credible fifth on heavy going at Canterbury in June, before working home well for third over 1100m and comfortably winning at Gosford last time out. This is terrific placement from Peter & Paul Snowden and the horse could receive the run of the race from gate 2.
Loveseat has only made one appearance at the races so far but showed great ability to hit the line for second and can go one better this afternoon. The Savabeel filly was settled behind the pace by Jeff Penza at Wyong last month and looked terrific when she found clear running in the straight; missing by less than half a length as a $21 shot. A few key scratchings have really weakened today’s field and she’ll be extremely difficult to beat.
Silver Stratum has been racing well this time and finds himself in a very winnable race at the ‘Bool this afternoon. The six-year-old took a couple of runs to shake off the cobwebs upon resuming in April, but posted three-consecutive wins through May and June including one at this track and distance. He has terrific form on heavy going and can fight out the finish with John Allen aboard.
Decroux was entitled to weaken late in his competitive return two weeks ago, but he’ll strip fitter for that run and can fight his way into the finish of the last at Kembla this afternoon. The Lope De Vega gelding has only had five competitive appearances since debuting in August last year, but he is beginning to string together a decent record and has good upside. He’ll need to cross the field from the outside barrier today, but he has good early speed and an edge over his rivals.
