Fui San will take plenty of benefit into his second-up run in the Highway race at Randwick today and can fight into the finish at a nice, each-way price. Fui San was settled back in the field at Canberra first-up and hit the line well to finish fifth over 1200m; a trip that is undoubtedly short of his best. The Authorized gelding has a terrific record in these Highway races and he can enjoy a nice run in transit from gate 2 before calling on his turn of foot.
Polite Pass is ready to peak third-up this afternoon and will relish the conditions of Race 1 at Belmont. The Skilled mare resumed for a credible fifth over 1300m at Northam on June 21st and enjoyed a step up to a mile when she ran on for a close second behind World Is Yours last time out. She’s drawn ideally in barrier 2 and has the major advantage of leading hoop William Pike in the saddle. She’ll be extremely difficult to hold out.
Italia Bella will carry excellent form into Race 6 at Doomben this afternoon and will be extremely difficult to beat amongst this Class 3 company. The daughter of Fastnet Rock took a couple of runs to tighten up this time, but delivered a decent field a resounding defeat over 1350m at Doomben last time out, including a number of horses who have since franked the form by winning. A step up to a mile is ideal as she is yet to taste anything but success at the trip and with appropriate luck in transit, should be winning.
Princeton Spirit has returned to racing in terrific order this time and finds himself in a very winnable race at Moonee Valley. The Nadeem gelding worked home well to finish fourth over 1200m at Sandown in late May before returning to the winner’s stall at this track and distance two runs back. He made a competitive transition to black type company when fourth in the Listed VRC Sprint Final (1200m) down the Flemington straight last time out and will enjoy a return to the Valley today, as well as the step back in class.
