The 2018 British Open will begin at the infamous Carnoustie Links in Scotland this afternoon and there is a case to be made for more than half the field, given the challenging conditions. The top ten have pretty much all found competitive form leading into the Open Championship and US Open champion Brooks Koepka looks a nice bet to finish in the top 20. The American was a strong and consistent performer over four testing rounds at Shinnecock Hills in June and that kind of poise is likely to prove vital on the difficult Carnoustie course.
The Round of 16 at the Croatian Open will see Russian Andrey Rublev square off with Canada’s Felix Auger Aliassime and the fourth seed looks over the odds at win at his current price. Rublev has produced a number of smart performances this second and enjoy a defent run at the Monte Carlo Masters in April; eliminating Robin Haase before taking a set away from Dominic Thiem, most notably. He’s primed for another big performance this afternoon and can progress to the quarterfinals.
We’re set for a pretty forgettable game of rugby league when the lowly Eels and Bulldogs square off this evening, but the latter can take bragging rights by winning. The Eels have a great team on paper but they have continually done everything to lose this season and enter Round 19 with only three wins to their name. They squandered another great opportunity against the Knights last week and the end of the season cannot come quickly enough. The Dogs have been reasonably competitive recently and they look over the odds in head-to-head betting here.
