Orchestral Lass has posted a number of decent results without breaking her maiden and won’t be faced with a better opportunity to break the duck than she finds at Moruya this afternoon. The daughter of Sepoy was flat first-up at Goulburn but hit the line well for third over the same 1300m trip at Hawkesbury second-up before stepping up in class and distance for fourth at Newcastle last time out. She’s drawn to find a nice position behind the pace today and is rock-hard fit.
No Doubt Ma’am broke her maiden with an impressive run at Canberra last time out and can make it two in a row when she steps out at Moruya this afternoon. No Doubt Ma’am filly has shown plenty of potential since debuting for Mick Price in 2017 but has looked even better since transferring to the care of Matt Dale and has been right in the finish of her two most-recent starts. She won’t be far away in the run and will be hard to hold out.
Ticked Off has been a strong and consistent performer this time and is primed for a return to winning form today. The daughter of Tickets resumed for fourth over this course and distance in April and has since run on to place in each of her three subsequent starts, including a close-up second at Wagga in late May. She’s drawn to get an ideal run in transit today and will be tough to catch.
Dark Elixir has returned to racing in competitive form this time and finds herself in a very winnable race at Cessnock this afternoon. The Nadeem mare is a Cessnock track specialist and has won two of her three most-recent starts at the country course; running second on the only other occasion. She has drawn awkwardly but has the early speed to overcome the wide barrier and looks over the odds at her current price ($11/$3.70 at the time of publish).
