Portugal can take a big step towards qualifying for the knockout stage of the World Cup by beating African qualifiers Morocco tonight. Cristiano Ronaldo showed why he is the world’s best player in Portugal’s draw with Spain on Matchday 1; netting all three goals and all but carry his nation to vital points. The Real Madrid man is primed for an absolute field day tonight and he can consolidate his lead in the race towards the Golden Boot.
Uruguay will meet Saudi Arabia in their second World Cup fixture tonight and we could be in for an absolute goal fest. The Green Falcons could not withstand the force of the host nation in the tournament opener and leaked five goals in total, more than throwing their campaign into chaos. Uruguay were tested by Egypt, but did enough to take the win. Given that Uruguay attack spearheaded by Luis Suarez and Edinson Cavani is a lot more potent than Russia’s, it could be another tough night for the Saudis.
Iran took the win from Morocco last week, but they face a huge step up in class when they line up opposite Spain early tomorrow morning. Spain looked to have fierce rivals Portugal beaten in their World Cup opener, but were at the mercy of Cristiano Ronaldo late and were forced to settle for a draw. They will look to take their frustrations out on Iran early tomorrow morning and will look to in-form marksman Diego Costa to do the damage, who already has two goals to his name in Russia.
