Parramatta have struggled to two wins this season and will be hoping the State of Origin period can bring about a change in the club’s fortunes. The Knights have lost their last four games and are in danger of losing control of their season after a bright start. Parramatta have shown glimpses of promise this season and I’m backing them to turn around their against a poor Newcastle defence.
The Power have won their last two games and are coming off a bye after their 40-point against the Suns in China. Hawthorn have lost three consecutive games and are in danger of losing touch with the top-eight. The Power midfield should be too slick for Hawthorn and while the Hawks have turned Tasmania into a fortress they’ll struggle to contain a Port Adelaide that is well rested and hungry for another win after rediscovering their attacking edge against the Suns. Port Adelaide will be too strong and I’m backing them to record a memorable win on the road.

Aussie Sam Stosur will need to be at her best when she takes on third seed Garbine Muguruza at Rolland Garros. Stosur has been in good form in Paris accounting for Yanina Wickmayer and Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova on her way to her third-round clash. The Spaniard holds a 2-1 advantage over Stosur and beat the Aussie last year in Brisbane. Stosur has been playing some excellent tennis and is good value to progress into the second week of the French open
Best Three-Leg Multi
Richmond will be looking for a comprehensive victory over the Bombers when they clash at the MCG. The Tigers have been disappointing over the last two weeks, surrendering top spot to the Eagles and putting in a poor effort against St Kilda. Expect the Tigers to come out firing and return to their best against Essendon. The Cats take on the Suns and Gary Ablett will play his first game against his former side since his offseason switch. Geelong will be too slick for a Suns side still recovering from their trip to China. In Super Rugby, the Crusaders come up against the Chiefs and expect the defending champs to grind out another win as they look to cement their place at the top of the New Zealand Conference.
