Canterbury: Race 5 (3:10pm)
No. 5 Ombudsman

Ombudsman has been in terrific form this season and finds himself in a very winnable race at Canterbury this afternoon. The Reliable Man gelding has not missed a place through his five most recent starts and delivered a decent field a near five-length defeat over 1800m at Hawkesbury on May 10th before finishing second behind the quality galloper Live And Free last time out. He’s drawn to find a nice position just behind the pace and has the added bonus of leading hoop Hugh Bowman in the saddle.

Ipswich: Race 7 (3:28pm)
No. 9 House Of Drama

House Of Drama has been racing in terrific form this time and is ready to return to the winner’s stall at Ipswich this afternoon. The Real Saga filly bolted in at Beaudesert in May, before working to the line well to finish third over 1400m at the Gold Coast. She hit the line well on heavy-going to finish second on the Gold Coast last time out and is rock-hard fit for today’s assignment. This is her grand final and she’ll be able to take a sit behind the pace, before calling on a smart turn of foot.

Canterbury: Race 6 (3:45pm)
No. 9 Organza

Organza turned in a rare lacklustre performance last time out, but she has otherwise been in terrific nick this time and can return to winning form at Canterbury today. The Street Cry filly resumed this time for consecutive wins over 1400m and Newcastle and Kembla Grange, but couldn’t make up the ground on her rivals at Rosehill Gardens last time out after being caught wide in transit. She takes 4kgs from this afternoon’s topweight and she looks to have a class edge over the majority of her rivals.

Best Each-Way Bet
Ipswich: Race 5 (2:18pm)
No. 11 Zukaz

Zukaz is yet to show his best this time in, but is faced with ideal conditions at Ipswich today and is over the odds at a double-figure quote. The I Am Invincible gelding resumed for a credible fourth over 1100m at Ipswich and simply failed to handle the heavy-going when sixth on the Sunshine Coast last time out. He’ll enjoy a return to a good track, he takes 6.5kgs from the topweight today and is drawn ideally in barrier 5.
