Ruby Skye has bene racing fairly this time in, but is ready to peak third-up at Corowa this afternoon. The Reset mare struck on well to finish fifth at Wagga first-up in April, before another credible performance to finish midfield amongst decent company at Wodonga last time out. She’ll carry only 54.5kgs and can find a position just in behind the pace, before mustering her turn of foot.
Fire Stoker has been outstanding this time and finds himself in another very winnable race this afternoon. The Denman gelding posted smart and consecutive wins at Bathurst and Parkes through April and May, before finishing second behind Like A Shot at Canberra last time out. This is a step back in class and he’ll have conditions to suit at Corowa.
Ajuda will carry winning form into Race 9 at Pakenham today and will be extremely difficult to beat once more. The daughter of Astronomer Royal took a few to get going this time, but was strong from the front over this course and distance a fortnight ago and never appeared in doubt. She’s drawn ideally in barrier 3 and jockey Michael Dee in the saddle is a bonus.

The Gatting Ball has steadily built to the task through two starts this time and is ready to break his maiden at Pakenham this afternoon. The Hard Spun gelding was caught wide in transit but still ran on well for sixth at Hamilton two starts back, before hitting the line well for second behind Speak Softly at Geelong last time out. There is no horse of that quality in this field and The Gatting Ball won’t find a better chance to win.
