Best Bets
Wangaratta: Race 3 (1:00pm)
No. 6 Paper Trade

Paper Trade has shown decent ability through four career starts so far and he is ready to break his maiden at Wangaratta this afternoon. The son of Written Tycoon ran on well at Kilmore last time out, but left himself too much work to do and he can find a position closer to the speed today from an inside draw. He won’t be offered a better opportunity to post a maiden career win and he looks like the horse to beat.

Cessnock: Race 5 (3:05pm)
No. 6 La Biere Choisie

La Biere Choisie will carry winning form into her appearance at Cessnock this afternoon and finds herself in another very winnable race. The Choisir filly typically gets better the further she gets into her preparation and will enjoy a relief in the weights this afternoon. Andrew Gibbons can find a position on pace from gate 3 and the three-year-old will be extremely difficult to run down.

Cessnock: Race 7 (4:15pm)
No. 2 Ten Carat

Three-year-old Ten Carat has returned to racing in slick form this time in and will be hard to beat at Cessnock this afternoon. The son of Fastnet Rock is yet to miss a place since transferring to the care of Kris Lees and ran second behind Reckless Knight over 900m at Newcastle before an easy win over 1000m at Muswellbrook a fortnight ago. This race is no harder and he looks to have a class edge over his rivals.

Best Each-Way Bet
Wangaratta: Race 4 (1:30pm)
No. 4 Isle Of Light

Isle Of Light will need some luck from a wide draw at Wangaratta this afternoon, but he looks over the odds at his current price. The Manhattan Rain gelding clearly needed the run when he tailed off to finish seventh at Cranbourne first-up, but has worked home well to finish fourth at his two most-recent starts. The slight step up in trip looks ideal and he can find his way into the money.
