EPL Week 37 Preview

EPL Week 37 Preview

With the end of the season in sight, Week 37 of the English Premier League commences with Chelsea still a mathematical chance of catching Tottenham in fourth place and securing Champions League Football for next season.

The battle to stay in the top flight heats up this season with a number of teams set to have their futures decided. Southampton, Swansea, Huddersfield and West Ham are locked in a relegation battle and will be looking to retain a place in the Premier League for next season.

Brighton Hove Albion v Manchester United
United to win ($1.65)

Brighton will be hoping the lure of the FA Cup Final will be enough to distract Manchester United in what looms as a crucial fixture for the Seagulls.

Brighton currently sits in 14th place and only need three points to secure their status in the Premier League for next season.

José Mourinho’s men wrapped up their place in the Champions League for next season with last weekend’s victory over Arsenal. With the FA Cup Final two weeks away United Manager Jose Mourinho may opt to rest striker Romelu Lukaku, who picked up an ankle injury in the win over Arsenal last round.

David Propper returns to the line-up for Brighton after picking up a red card against Huddersfield and the Seagulls will be looking to cause an upset against a side dealing with the distractions of the FA Cup Final.

United have too much class across the park and shouldn’t be troubled in what should be a comfortable victory.

Stoke CIty v Crystal Palace
Crystal Palace to win ($2.70)

Stoke will be desperate for points this weekend in their clash with Crystal Palace. On paper Stoke boast the likes of Jese and Swiss maestro Xherdan Shaqiri but have struggled to put wins on the board.

A win here against Crystal Palace give them some hope heading into a clash with Swansea.

The Eagles sit mid-table in 11th position and will be happy to have secured Premier League football for next season.

Crystal Palace has kept a clean sheet in their last two Premier League matches and will be looking to extend their dominance over the Potters, who have only won two of their last nine Premier League clashes with the Eagles.

Watford v Newcastle United
Back the Draw ($3.20)

Newcastle have struggled to get on the scoresheet away from St James Park and they could be in for a tough time against the Hornets.

Watford have become a bogey team for Newcastle, with the Hornets winning their last three meetings in the top-flight.

Watford have struggled for a positive result for the last seven games and the match against Newcastle may be their last opportunity to pick up some points before finishing the season with a trip to Manchester United. It’s tough to split these teams and a draw looms as the likely outcome.

West Bromwich Albion v Tottenham Hotspurs
Back Kane to score ($3.20)

Spurs have the opportunity to kill off the top four chances of rivals Chelsea and send West Brom on their way to the Championship.

While the Baggies are still a mathematical chance of surviving, it would take a stunning turnaround in form over their last two games to keep them in the top flight for next season. Despite missing out on the Premier League trophy, Tottenham striker Harry Kane has the opportunity to nab the Golden Boot for the 2018 season and will be wanting to get on the scoreboard.

Leicester City v West Ham
Leicester City to win ($2.20)

With one win after their last six matches, West Ham manager David Moyes faces a tough task to keep his side in the top flight for next season.

A win against Leicester City could see his side move out of the drop zone. The Foxes were comprehensively beaten by Crystal Palace last weekend and enter the clash knowing that they are safe from relegation this season.

While Leicester were poor last weekend, West Ham faces a monumental task to save their season over the last two games and the Foxes will ensure that the misery continues for David Moyes with Leicester good value to get the win.

AFC Bournemouth v Swansea City
AFC Bournemouth to win ($2.10)

Bournemouth have managed to remain unbeaten in their last five meetings with Swansea in the top flight.

The Cherries have struggled over recent weeks losing their last three matches. Swansea are locked in a relegation dogfight and have struggled for a positive result over the last six weeks.

Swansea have failed to get on the scoreboard in their last two games and will need a positive result here to avoid relegation.

The pressure may be too much for Swansea and the Cherries have the opportunity to take advantage of their uncertainty to grab a close win.

Everton v Southampton
Everton to win ($2.90)

The Saints victory over Bournemouth last weekend opened the door for Southampton to pull off an escape from relegation.

To survive the drop the Saints will need to get all three points against Everton and Swansea before their final game of the season against champions Manchester City.

Everton will be aiming for a top-ten finish to leave them well placed for next season and Everton manager will be able to call upon Theo Walcott and Wayne Rooney to cause the Southampton defence problems.

The Saints will struggle to stay in this contest and Everton have enough talent to grind out a 1-0 victory.

Manchester City v Huddersfield
Over 3 goals scored ($1.45)

Champions Manchester City needs one more win to break the most wins in a Premier League season and they’ll have every opportunity against Huddersfield.

City will be looking to replicate their effort last week against West Ham with a comprehensive demolition of Huddersfield in front of the faithful at the Etihad.

Huddersfield have struggled over the last month of the season and only managed to secure a positive 1-0 result against Watford.

While City have secured the Premiership trophy Pep Guardiola’s side can still chase down a number of Premier League records. Expect City to win comfortably with plenty of goals on offer for one of the best attacks in the Premier League.

Chelsea v Liverpool
Back the Draw ($3.40)

Antonio Conte’s men have found some form late in the season and are unbeaten in their last five games.

Chelsea will be looking to take advantage of Liverpool’s focus on the Champions League final as a win against one of their Premier League rivals would keep the heat on Tottenham for a top-four finish.

The Reds have won their last two EPL matches at Stamford Bridge and Jurgen Klopp have the opportunity to become one of the first visiting managers to notch three wins in as many visits. Liverpool will be hoping that Mo Salah continues his outstanding form this season.

The Egyptian international is fighting for the league’s golden boot award with Harry Kane and we wouldn’t be surprised for him to get on the scoresheet in what could be an entertaining draw.

Arsenal v Burnley
Arsenal to win ($1.52

Arsenal will be looking to send out manager Arsene Wenger with a win in his last game at the Emirates Stadium. It’s been a difficult season for the Gunners and they’ll have a tough time replacing one of the icons of the Premier League.

Wenger may have struggled in his final few seasons at Arsenal, but the Gunners manager is in the same class as Sir Alex Ferguson.

The Gunners will be able to call upon Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang to lead the line against Burnley. The Gabonese striker missed the trip to Spain and will be wanting to get on the score sheet. Burnley have been impressive this season but have not had a victory over Arsenal in their last seven matches.

Arsenal will be riding on emotion and should be able to get a win in Wenger’s final home game.

Swansea City v Southampton
No Bet

In a match that looms as a relegation dogfight both of these sides will be looking for maximum points to give themselves a chance a Premier League survival. Swansea have struggled this season, while Southampton’s woes have been well-documented. Southampton have been playing some good of late and managed to grab victory but may find Swansea difficult to break down at home.

While these two sides have everything to play for, this is tough to analyse from a betting perspective and I’m happy to this clash from a spectator’s perspective.

Chelsea v Huddersfield Town
No Bet

Chelsea won’t be in a giving mood as Huddeserfield are struggling to survive a relegation fight. The Blues have been in good form recently and the Chelsea attacking trident should be able to enjoy themselves against Huddersfield’s struggling defence.

With one eye on the FA Cup Final, Chelsea manager Antonio Conte may opt to give some of Chelsea’s youngsters some playing time to preserve the likes the Eden Hazard and Willian for their clash with Manchester United. The Blues will be looking to end the season on a positive note and keep the pressure on Spurs for a top four finish.

I’m happy to sit back and enjoy this match from a spectators point of view as their is little value in the handicap.

Leicester City v Arsenal
Arsenal to win ($2.15)

Leicester City have been able to work themselves into a mid-table position and will be looking for a good performance when they come up against the Gunners.

Arsenal are about the undergo a massive change with the departure of manager Arsene Wenger at the end of the Premier League season.

Wenger’s men will be determined to send their manager out on the right note and they should win this match and win well.

Tottenham Hotspurs v Newcastle United
Under 3 goals scored ($2.25)

Spurs will face-off with Newcastle in what should be an intriguing clash as the clock winds down on an exciting Premier League season.

After a dismal start to the season, Newcastle have been able to turn around their fortunes and sit in the top-ten.

The Magpies have struggled away from St James Park and Spurs were able to record a comfortable 2-0 victory the last time these two sides met.

Tottenham will be looking for a similar result and will be looking for Harry Kane and Son Heung Min to help them get what should be a comfortable victory.

Manchester City v Brighton Hove Albion
Over 3 goals scored ($1.65)

Champions Manchester City have an easy run home as they look to break more Premier League records when they host Brighton.

City have been brilliant in the Premier League this season and expect them to keep Brighton defence busy with the attacking options at their disposal.

Brighton are currently sitting in 14th position on the Premier League ladder and had a respectable 2-0 loss to City in their first clash of the season. City are good value to win this clash well and should be able to keep Brighton goalless

West Ham v Manchester United
United to win ($1.75)

Manchester United face a West Ham side battling the serious threat of relegation and former manager David Moyes won’t be expecting any favours from his old side.

West Ham have struggled for a consistent run of form all season and will need to get something positive from this clash before their final match of the season with Everton at home. United will be wanting a positive result as they look to keep their grip on second place in the Premier League standings.

United manager José Mourinho will be looking to fine-tune his side who are set to face Chelsea in the FA Cup Final.

United should be able to run out comfortable winners, in what looms as a tough assignment for West Ham manager David Moyes.
