Best Bets
Houston Rockets v Golden State Warriors
Rockets to win ($1.87)

The Rockets head back to Houston after becoming the first side in the league to bring to an end the Rockets 16-game run in the postseason. The Rockets were brilliant in game four, hanging on to grind out a close win. James Harden and Chris Paul will need to reproduce another big scoring effort to get the edge over the Warriors in what looms as a crucial game in the series. A win here for the Rockets would put them within touching distance of their first NBA Final since the 1995 season. The Rockets have been one of the best scoring teams in the league this year and I’m backing them to get the job done at home in Texas.

Sunrisers Hyderabad v Kolkata Knight Riders
Knight Riders to win ($1.74)

The Kolkata Knight Riders are set to square off against the Sunrisers Hyderabad for the right to play the Super Kings in the IPL final. Both of these sides have claimed to the title, with the Sunrisers winning the crown in 2016 and the Knight Riders last winning the IPL in 2014. The Knight Riders were superb in their 25-run win against the Royals. Chris Lynn has been outstanding for the Knight Riders and they have plenty of big names in their line-up who can clear the boundary. The Sunrisers have had a consistent season, finishing the regular season on top of the IPL ladder and earning the double chance in the finals series. After a two-wicket defeat to the Super Kings, the Sunrisers will be wanting to bounce back with a good performance. The Knight Riders have momentum on their side and I’m backing them to get the win and book their place in the final.

Best Outsider
CRUSADERS V HURRICANES
Hurricanes to win 1-12 points ($3)

The two best sides in the competition clash at AMI Stadium and we could be looking at a potential Super Rugby Final preview. The Hurricanes have been in outstanding form this season and won eight of their last eleven clashes against the Crusaders. The Crusaders last loss at home was in Round 17, in 2016 against the Hurricanes. Hurricanes winger Ben Lam leads the competition with 14 tries this season and I’m backing the Hurricanes to edge the home side in what should be a physical clash.

Best Three-Leg Multi
Collingwood, Canberra, Storm to win
Combined Odds @$4.07

Collingwood have been playing well over the last month of the competition and have won five of their last seven games. The Bulldogs are struggling to regain their confidence and the Pies simply have too many scoring options across the middle of the park and they should get the win. The Sea Eagles have notched up some impressive victories against the Broncos and the Storm on the road and have a tough assignment against the Raiders. Canberra are a different beast at home on a Friday night and expect Jason Croker to score a few points for the Green Machine in a vintage return to form. The Storm will be happy to have Cameron Smith back in their line-up after serving his suspension and the Storm skipper should be able to guide his side back onto the winner’s list against a Cowboys side that has struggled for some winning form this year.
