Best Bets
Warrnambool: Race 4 (1:15pm)
No. 5 Night Falls

Night Falls has been strong without breaking his maiden and probably won’t be offered a better chance than in Race 4 at the ‘Bool today. The Redoute’s Choice colt is yet to miss a placing through four career starts and has been right in the finish at Pakenham and Sandown at his two appearances this time in. This is a noticeable drop back in class and jockey Damien Lane shouldn’t find too much issue in taking a forward position in this field, despite drawing wide.

Warrnambool: Race 5 (1:45pm)
No. 12 Write Enuff

The majority of the field in Race 5 at Warrnambool today is on debut and there is therefore plenty of value to be taken from a betting perspective. Write Enuff will be stepping out for the first time in this race and is a full sister to quality sprinter Rich Enuff, who was probably unlucky not to post a Group 1 win during an impressive racing career. Jockey Craig Williams will likely settle the colt off the speed from his wide draw and if she harbours some of her brother’s brilliance, Write Enuff will be extremely difficult to beat. Her current $6 quote could prove to be big overs.

Best Each-Way Bet
Warrnambool: Race 6 (2:20pm)
No. 4 I'll'Ava'Alf

This year’s Brierly Steeplechase has drawn a typically smart field of jumpers and I’ll’ava’alf is one horse that looks to be over the odds at his $9.50 quote (at the time of publish). The Lucky Unicorn gelding was a dominant winner of a Steeplechase at the ‘Bool on March 15th and while he dropped his rider at Oakbank, responded with a credible sixth amongst strong company upon returning to flat racing at Terang last time out. His record at Warrnambool is simply outstanding and will relish a return to the jumps and a step up in trip.

Best Roughie
Taree: Race 7 (3:55pm)
No. 6 Tale Of Eight

Tale Of Eight has not been seen at the races since October, but he is a horse that tends to come to hand quickly and could shock at a big price this afternoon. The Benfica gelding has only had seven career starts to date, but he produced a number of quality performances at country level last time in and was a smart winner against similar company to this at Cessnock. Barrier 4 is ideal and he is worth consideration at current $20 odds.
