Queen Of The Turf Stakes Betting Wide Open

A smart field of fillies and mares has been taken for the Group 1 Queen Of The Turf Stakes (1600m) at Randwick on Saturday and it is set to be one of the most open races on Day 2 of The Championships from a betting perspective.

Consistent mare Dixie Blossoms has continued to receive the lion’s share of attention in our Queen Of The Turf Stakes market and at the time of publish, is $6.50 into $5.50 favouritism.

The popular mare has been a standout for veteran trainer Ron Quinton throughout her entire racing career so far and will take her place in the Queen Of The Turf Stakes field with a commendable record of six wins and ten placings, through her twenty-three starts to date.

Resuming this time for a strong win in the Group 2 Guy Walter Stakes (1400m) on March 3rd, the Street Sense mare was hampered in the final straight at Rosehill before finishing sixth in the Group 1 Coolmore Classic (1500m), but ran on well for third in the Group 2 Emancipation Stakes (1500m) last time out.

Corey Brown has plenty of work to do from barrier 16, but Dixie Blossoms is as tough as they come and she is capable of finding her way into the money on Saturday.

Silent Sedition has steadily built to the task this time and she looks to be a terrific bet to win the Queen Of The Turf Stakes at $8 odds.

A Group 1 winner having taken out last year’s edition of the William Reid Stakes, Silent Sedition resumed this year for fifth in the Group 3 Bellmaine Stakes (1200m), but improved drastically for a dominant win in the Group 3 Mannerism Stakes (1400m) second-up.

Having run on well for third in the Coolmore Classic last time out, the War Chant mare has trialled well leading into this race and should be able to find a good position in transit from barrier 10.

Daysee Doom and Prompt Response have both been terrific this time and they pair share the third line of betting at generous $8.50 quotes.

A stable mate to Dixie Blossoms, Daysee Doom is another mare that has been terrific throughout her entire racing career so far, but she has gone to another level this time in.

A smart winner of the Group 2 Millie Fox Stakes (1300m) first-up on February 24th, the Domesday mare took up the running as a $21 shot in the Coolmore Classic and never surrendered her lead; attacking the line for a well-deserved Group 1 win.

Last seen finishing fifth in the Emancipation Stakes, Daysee Doom will need plenty of luck to find a position on pace from barrier 17, but will be partnered by regular hoop Andrew Adkins.

Prompt Response is drawn ideally in barrier 7 and she will take plenty of beating in the Queen Of The Turf Stakes.

Resuming for an easy win in the Group 2 Breeders’ Classic (1200m) on February 10th, the Beneteau mare progressed to strong performances in both the Millie Fox Stakes and Coolmore Classic, before returning to winning form in the Emancipation Stakes.

Prompt Response is rock-hard fit and will be partnered by in-form hoop Blake Shinn once more on Saturday.
