Prompt Response ($5.50) has powered home to the win the Group 2 2018 Emancipation Stakes (1500m) this afternoon at Rosehill Gardens.
Jumping from the gates well, Prompt Response settled off the pace in the middle of the pack as Daysee Doom ($3.70), Foxplay ($5) and Oregon’s Day ($9.50) jostled for an early lead.
Jockey Damian Oliver was able to settle just outside the lead and was greeted with a terrific turn of foot to fly home on the straight and charged home on the line to win from Oregon’s Day ($9.50) and Dixie Blossom ($4.20).
Damian Oliver was delighted with the win on the return to Sydney.
“It’s always nice to get a winner,” he said.
Oliver was thrilled with the mare’s performance.
“It was good to get the result, she’s a tough mare and she hasn’t managed to win a Group 1 yet. She back well today.”
Prompt Response has firmed in our early market for the 2018 Queen of the Turf Stakes off the back of today’s performance.
