Melbourne Stars vs Brisbane Heat – Tuesday January 2nd
The Melbourne Stars welcome Kevin Pietersen back into their line-up for the clash with the Heat. Pietersen will slot straight back into a line-up, that is one of the strongest of the league on paper.
The question for the Stars, as always, is turning potential into results. After losing the opening two games of their campaign, the Stars big names really need to fire if they are going to find themselves in this season’s finals.
The Heat will be looking to bounce back after their loss to the Strikers on New Year’s Eve. Chris Lynn has come into the line-up and he’ll be looking to put on a show. The Heat should have the edge in the bowling department; spinner Yasir Shah will be looking to continue his good form after an impressive debut against the Strikers.
The Stars need to kickstart their BBL campaign and they can shine in front of their home crowd at the MCG on Tuesday.

Melbourne Renegades vs Sydney Sixers – Wednesday January 3rd
The Melbourne Renegades will take a game regional when they host the Sydney Sixers in Geelong on Wednesday afternoon.
The Renegades will be looking to bounce back from the disappointment of their first loss of the season. Veterans Aaron Finch, Cameron White and Brad Hodge will all be looking for runs against the Sixers, following quiet performances most recently. The Renegades have shown a willingness to fight for every run and Hodge has given their middle order some much-needed stability.
The Sixers are coming off the back of a road trip and another loss to Perth. Jordan Silk has found some form over the last couple of games. His ability to play the spin of Brad Hogg gives the Sixers a chance of building a decent total.
The Sixers will make a game of it, but they are winless after four games and the Renegades will be too strong in front of the local faithful.
