Week 13 of the A-League is underway in Melbourne tonight and we are set for a full and exciting round of football throughout the next four days.
We finished Week 12 with four successful bets across the five matches and there is plenty more value to be found in Week 13!
Melbourne Victory vs Newcastle Jets
The Melbourne Victory and Newcastle Jets were both winners last weekend and will square off in the first match in Round 13 tonight.
The Jets are amidst their best season since winning the competition in the league’s third year in existence and they really do look like a team that could challenge Sydney FC until the end. They easily account for the Wanderers at home last weekend and that 4-0 win means that they have now scored more goals (29) than any other team this season.
The Victory have won three of their last four matches and are seeking a third in succession after a gritty 1-0 win in the Melbourne Derby last week.
This is the hardest task that Newcastle has faced for a few weeks, but it is extremely difficult to tip against their current run of form and they represent terrific value once more.
Tip: Back the Jets to win @ $3.50
Adelaide United vs Brisbane Roar
Adelaide United are offered another good opportunity at three competition points when they host Brisbane Roar on Saturday afternoon.
It has been a mixed bag of results for the Reds in recent weeks, who have won three from their last six matches, but also not been disgraced in their losing efforts.
The Brisbane Roar have been close to terrible all season and it is already getting to the point where their focus should be shifting to next season’s rebuild. They suffered another demoralising loss to Perth last weekend, compounded by the fact that they were leading until the 80th minute.
The last time these two sides met, Adelaide walked away 2-1 victors and a similar result appears likely once more.
Tip: Back Adelaide to win @ $1.90
Sydney FC vs Perth Glory
Sydney FC will look to extend their glittering run of form past Perth Glory on Saturday night.
The Sky Blues have suffered nothing of a premiership hangover and they are still clearly the team to beat this season; suffering only one defeat and one draw through their first twelve matches.
Perth rallied late to secure all three points in Brisbane last week, but it did take 80 minutes to open their account and they will need to be a lot better early, if they are any chance of competing with Sydney FC.
Sydney have been scoring for fun and there is value in backing more than 3 goals to be scored combined in this match.
Tip: Back over 3 goals to be scored @ $1.90
Central Coast Mariners vs Wellington Phoenix
The Mariners and Wellington will both look to return to winning form on the Central Coast on Sunday.
The Mariners are far from the league’s best team, but they have undoubtedly been fighting above their weight this season. In saying that, they are winless in three weeks and will need to recapture their winning ways if they are to make this season’s finals.
The season is already long gone for the Phoenix and they are a team who has failed to make anything of an impression. They ended their most-recent match on the wrong-end of a 4-1 score line at home, albeit against Sydney FC.
The Mariners won’t have a better opportunity to return to winning form and they represent good value in our win-draw-win market.
Tip: Back the Mariners to win @ $1.85
Western Sydney Wanderers vs Melbourne City
The final match of the round will peg the Wanderers and Melbourne City against each other in Western Sydney.
It was not happy hunting for either team last weekend and this match subsequently looms as an opportunity to get back on the board.
For the Wanderers it was a forgettable 4-0 loss to the Jets, in what was a match that truly exposed a number of holes in their defence and overall ability. They remain a mathematical chance, but they do not look like a team that will make the finals this campaign.
Melbourne City remain a live chance this season and if there is one result that they will want to respond to, it’s a loss to the Victory.
Tip: Back Melbourne City to win @ $2.50
