Malt Maid was the inaugural Queensland Oaks winner back in 1951.

Winning Ways holds the current Queensland Oaks record over the 2200m winning in 2019 in a time of 2 minutes 14:82 seconds.

Jockey Chris Munce has ridden more Queensland Oaks winners than any other jockey with four victories aboard Keepsake (2010), Vouvray (2004), Zagalia (2003) and Giovana (2000). Munce is now a trainer based in Brisbane.

Other notable Queensland Oaks winning fillies include the next year’s Melbourne Cup champion Evening Peal (1955), the previous year’s Cox Plate winner Surround (1977), Triscay (1991), Crystal Palace (1997), Ethereal (2001) who went on to win the Melbourne Cup that spring, and superstar mare Winx (2015) who would enter the history books as the first ever four-time Cox Plate champion.

The 2022 Queensland Oaks winner was the local Queensland-trained Gypsy Goddess, second in the autumn’s ATC Oaks, who overcame barrier 18 of 18 to salute for the punters as the $4.40 favourite.

The Queensland Oaks 2023 winner was the Kris Lees-trained Amokura ($8) ridden to victory by jockey Damien Oliver. With the win trainer Lees enjoyed his second Queensland Oaks success 18 years after his first with Vitesse Dane (2005). Amokura meanwhile won the event during her opening career campaign with the Queensland Oaks her first Group race assignment.

The 2024 Queensland Oaks winner was the Ciaron Maher-trained $101 outsider Socks Nation.
